SEBI has notified the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) (Amendment) Regulations, 2017 which shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette. A new Sub Regulation has been inserted as Regulation 37(6) to provide exemption to the Regulation 36 when draft schemes which solely provide for merger of a wholly owned subsidiary with its holding company. However, such draft schemes shall continue to be filed with the stock exchanges for the purpose of disclosures.

Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) has waived off the requirement to pay Service Tax on services given by the operators of Common Effluent Treatment Plant for the period commencing on 1st July, 2012 to 31st March, 2015. The Central Government is satisfied that in that period, according to a practice that was generally prevalent, there was non levy of service tax, on the services by the operators of Common Effluent Treatment Plant by way of treatment of effluent and this service was liable to service tax, in the said period, which was not being paid according to the said practice. Now the same shall not be required to be paid for the said period.
